Trail Pursuit 2025

WELCOME!

We are a community of runners exploring beautiful trails in the pursuit of adventure! Achieve your first 5K, your first trail marathon, the chance to improve on a time or distance or something in between.


These training plans are for YOU. We want you to adapt them, have fun with them, be flexible, learn, be challenged and grow as you count down the weeks to Trail Pursuit. 


We want you to be confident in your choices, know when to switch things around to get the best from your running and how to fit these plans into your life. They are designed to fit alongside your current routine so don't feel tied to specific days of the week, and never ever run if you're ill or injured just because it looks like you should on a plan!


A few notes on descriptions:


EASY: This is your easiest running. You should be able to hold a conversation for this effort, and you should always feel like you are able to do more when it's time to stop.  

STEADY: A little faster than easy pace, with a little left at the end!  

TEMPO: This should feel like you are pushing into harder pace. It should feel similar to 10k race effort without leaving you broken by the end!

5K TRAINING PLAN

You will notice the 5K & 10K plans are all run time rather than distance. This is to allow for the vast range of experience in our runners who will all have different starting points. Good luck!

10K TRAINING PLAN

You have heaps of time to get it right and full support along the way. We want you to arrive to Trail Pursuit fitter, happier & ready for the race experience of a lifetime!

HALF MARATHON TRAINING PLAN

Designed to give you enough running fitness, strength & endurance to arrive prepared for a Trail Pursuit Half Marathon. The plan incorporates extra miles & hill sessions to improve your overall technical trail skills.

MARATHON TRAINING PLAN

For runners with experience under their belt, our trail marathon plan will make you stronger & confident arriving to race day. Feel free to change mileage & switch sessions around to suit your routine. Get ready for adventure!
