HALF MARATHON

This beautiful route takes you along the South West Coastal Path with the great expanse of the Atlantic Ocean on your right before bringing you inland to tackle The Beacon (192m) for the first time to be greeted with unbeatable views of the whole area. From there you head through St Agnes village and Aid Station 1 before heading to the first beach of the day, Trevaunaunce Cove and rejoining the  South West Coastal Path.

This brings you to Aid Station 2 which is situated on a WW2 Gun Battery. You will then retrace your earlier steps and head to the once secret beach at Chapel Porth where if the tide is right you may spot the shipwreck of a 100 year old steamer - the S.S. Eltham! From here you’ll run a tour of the Wheal Coates tin mining area complete with 18th Century engine houses and almost martian landscapes all tucked between quiet Chapel Porth and the bustling Porth Towan (Aid Station 3).

Once you’ve explored this area you’re heading back inland to Goonvrea where the flora reminds you more of the tropics than the UK and you get to finish off with a final visit to The Beacon (192m). Spectacular mix of coastal trails & wild forestry, perfect for those who love an adventurous trail race!
