I started running about 2 years ago when I sold my bike during lockdown and realising that I had nothing to motivate myself I had to start something so my partner suggested running. I thought "What! I hate running" but then I found my love for Trail Running and honestly have never looked back. Where better than Scotland for hills. TP, the Cairngorms await!
Trail running for me is a place to escape. A time to think about everything or absolutely nothing at all. I love trail running as it allows me to explore beautiful parts of the world by foot, I can’t wait to get the chance to see a new part of the Cairngorms in August with Trail Pursuit!
Trail running is the feeling of being a child and running for no reason other than the joy of running. I'm buzzing for Trail Pursuit to come to the Cairngorms where the mountains and forests make you in awe of nature and the locals make you feel at home.
I have absolutely loved switching to trail running after starting out as a road runner! Getting out in nature and exploring new routes away from the city gives me headspace and it much more relaxing as I don’t worry about times or getting bored! I’ve been to the Cairngorms to run quite a few times, there are so many different routes to discover! It is so beautiful there and really shows off what Scotland has to offer so I am super excited that Trail Pursuit is coming to us in August!
When I started trail running, it reaffirmed the reasons why I run. Trail running is a big part of me challenging myself and what I can do. Whether that’s how far I run or how high I climb. I trail run to collect unique experiences, meet new people and appreciate our precious natural environment.
As someone who primarily road runs in the city, getting out on the trail is my escape. It's more than just fresh air, it takes me to a healthy mental place.
Trail running makes me a happier person, connects me with a nature, which I really enjoy. I feel wild and free when I'm on my trails 🙃
